How It Works
What the Instant Estimate does, and what the number means
The Instant Estimate is a planning tool. It applies E&K's own per-unit rates — the same rates we price real jobs from — to a few facts about your home, and returns a cost range for each service you select plus a combined total. It takes about a minute, it does not require an appointment, and nothing you enter obligates you to anything.
The range is built the way a real estimate is built: a base rate per square foot, per linear foot, per window, per door, or per skylight, adjusted for the material tier you choose (Essential, Enhanced, or Elite), the current condition of what is being replaced, and the number of stories. Roofing is priced on roof area, not floor area — if you skip the satellite lookup, the tool assumes a typical ratio of roof area to home footprint, so the measured path is more accurate for roofs with a lot of pitch or overhang.
Treat the result as a ballpark, not a quote. It excludes structural repairs, permits, removal of multiple existing roofing layers, and anything that can only be discovered on site — decking condition, for example, is unknowable until the old roof comes off. Your actual price comes from a free on-site inspection, and that visit is the only thing that can turn a range into a number.

Tell us about the home
Home square footage, number of stories, and the condition of what is there now. Windows, doors, and skylights are priced by count. Optionally, enter your address and the tool measures the roof from satellite imagery, including a steep-pitch adjustment when the imagery shows one.

Instant Estimate FAQ
Is the Instant Estimate a quote?
No. It is a planning range built from E&K's standard rates and the details you enter. A written quote requires a free on-site inspection, where we confirm measurements, materials, and the condition of the existing roof, walls, or openings.
How accurate is the satellite measurement?
It is an estimate of roof area and pitch from aerial imagery, and the tool shows you the imagery quality it was based on. It is usually closer than a square-footage guess, but final dimensions are always confirmed on site before any price is written.
Do I have to enter my address?
No. The address lookup is optional. The manual fields — square footage, stories, condition, and counts — produce a range on their own.
What is not included in the estimate?
Structural repairs, permits, removal of multiple existing layers, and conditions that can only be found on site. Each service page describes what a full E&K project does include.
